5 Fun & Easy Workouts + Hairstyles

We get it, you are not a gym type of girl and neither are we, but who said you have to go to the gym to workout?  We looked for some alternatives and have discovered there are other ways to get your heart pumping outside of the gym.

Hula Hoop

Yes, you read it right, hula hoop.  Re-visit a childhood activity with a weighted hula hoop and hula your way into being fit.  All you need is a weighted hula hoop and your favorite TV show.  You can complete this activity in your living room or  your backyard.

Wear your hair with two side braids and a bun.  For a chic look and extra hold, layer CyndiBands headbands.

4th of July CyndiBands Hair Ties & Headbands

Red White and Blue Headbands

July 4th is right around the corner and we all know what that means… It’s time to gather around friends and family, fire up the grill, watch a parade, and enjoy fireworks in celebration of the United States’ birthday!

We love patriotism here at CyndiBands so we decided to create American themed CyndiBands headbands and hair ties sets perfect for 4th of July!

4tharmcandy

The Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is a federal holiday that celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It is considered the main patriotic holiday in the United States and Americans show their patriotism by wearing red, white and blue throughout the day.

DIY: Flower Headband For Music Festivals

Floral headbands are all the rage at music festivals right now. The trend became popularized by celebrities such as Lana Del Rey and have since been seen on a number of other A-listers such as Bella Horne and Vanessa Hudgens. lana-del-rey-floral-headband Bella Thorne and Vanessa Hudgens

In the spirit of the music Festival, Coachella, in Indio California this weekend, we created our own floral headband.  Follow the steps below and make your own headband at home using our CyndiBands headband!

FloralHBpictorial

1) Cut flower at base and remove completely from the stem.  Flower must lay flat, leftover stem may cause flower to be flimsy.

2) Apply a small drop of glue to the back of first flower and glue at the center of the untied headband.

3) Take two flowers and glue petals together by placing a small drop of glue on the outside of the petals.

4) Grab the two flowers that are now glued-together from the petals.  Apply a drop of glue to the back of each flower and place on the headband, to the right of the centered flower (about an inch apart from each other).

5) Repeat steps 3 and 4. This time, glue the remaining two flowers to the left of the centered flower.

6) Re-tie headband with a single knot and adjust to fit.  Your flower headband is ready to wear!

For added effect, you can glue leaves on headband between every other flower.

These headbands were so cute; we could not just make one!  Below is a picture of another version of our floral headband using white flowers and silver headband.

Healthy Hair: The 4 Day Challenge

Here at CyndiBands we are obsessed with healthy hair, always finding new tips and trends that help in obtaining the healthiest hair possible. None of us shampoo our hair everyday because we know over-washing can strip hair of its natural oils that keep locks moisturized and healthy. Give your hair a break from styling tools and shampoo by washing it every few days. Because we love CyndiBands and healthy hair so much, we came up with the 4 Day Challenge and encourage you to join us in our non-washing hair experience. Follow the steps below and join us in the 4 Day Challenge!

Day 1Blow dry straight or wavy

After you have washed your hair, style as desired. Remember to use heat protecting spray, such as Aussie Hair Insurance Heat Protecting Shine Spray, for less damage when using heating products such as hair dryers and curling irons. SLA_0800

Day 2Loose, side braid

For the second day spray hair with dry shampoo, such as Klorane Dry Shampoo or  Oribe Dry Texturing Spray, and place your hair in a loose side pony or braid.  For a variation, we recommend trying a fishtail braid or a multi-strand braid. braid3

Day 3–  High ponytail

The challenge is almost over! Place your hair in a high ponytail with a bright CyndiBands hair tie for a pop of color.  You can try braiding your ponytail for a different look. Remember you can use dry shampoo for added volume and to remove oil. SLA_0845

Day 4High bun

For the last day of your non-washing experience, put hair in a high bun and secure with a CyndiBands hair tie.  If you want to keep flyaways in place then try using a CyndiBands headband. photo2

Challenge complete!

Congratulations, you are now a step closer to having longer, healthier hair.

If your hair is damaged try a hair mask, and continue not washing your hair daily.  A coconut oil mask not only makes your hair smell good, but it also makes your hair glossy and helps rejuvenate your locks.
